Applying for vet school in Australia? Here's how we can help
Applying to vet school in Australia—especially as a student from the U.S. or Canada—can feel like navigating a complex maze of requirements, high-stakes deadlines, and confusing terminology.
At Pacific Futures, we specialize in turning that overwhelming process into a clear, manageable path toward your graduation as a future vet.

Here's how we can help you succeed.
1) Understanding prerequisites
Students from North America must demonstrate a high GPA, SAT/ACT test scores, and sometimes Advanced Placement exams.
We'll help you figure out what's missing from your transcript and what you need to prioritize.
2) Personal Statement Support
In some cases, Australian vet schools may ask for a personal statement.
This is your chance to demonstrate your motivation for studying veterinary medicine, highlight relevant work experience, and demonstrate your skills.
We'll help you brainstorm and make sure what you've written aligns with what vet admissions offices are looking for.
3) Managing Timelines
With Australia being in the southern hemisphere, the timelines for applications vary.
We'll make sure you know when applications are due and where so you don't have to wait another year to apply.
Many Australian vet schools also require the Casper test—an online situational judgement test that evaluates your empathy, ethics, and communication skills—so we'll make sure you know when and how to sign up for this, too.
4) Work Experience Guidance
To apply for veterinary science degrees in Australia, you may also need documented "hands-on" time with animals.
This can range from 5 days to 30 days of volunteering at clinics, shelters, or farms.
Unfortunately, family pets don't qualify!
We'll help you audit your experience thus far and offer suggestions on what other activities can help build your resume.
5) Completing Applications
Each university has its own application portal.
We'll help you navigate each one and translate any confusing terminology.
6) Interview Prep
We'll help you feel comfortable with some frequently asked interview questions so you know what to expect.
7) Liaising with Universities
If any issues or questions come up, we're authorized to speak to universities on your behalf to help figure it out.
8) Post-Application
You're admitted—hooray!
If you've received more than one offer, we'll help you work out the best situation for your finances, academics, and career goals.
We'll help you navigate the acceptance process and next steps toward enrolment.
9) On the Ground
Our support for your vet med journey doesn't end when you get your acceptance letter!
From helping you find housing to setting up an Australian bank account, our goal is for you to have a soft landing as you transition to a new culture and study experience.
