UQ Bachelor of Veterinary Technology: Your pathway to Vet Med
The University of Queensland offers a leading 3-year Bachelor of Veterinary Technology focused on high-level clinical support. This program equips students with advanced skills in animal health, diagnostic imaging, and anesthesia. It is designed to produce skilled paraprofessionals for the veterinary industry.

Students train at the specialist UQ Gatton campus, home to the UQ Veterinary School, engaging with advanced medical equipment and diverse animal species. The curriculum blends biosciences with practical technical training in clinical settings. Through clinical placements and industry site visits, you will gain the expertise required for various roles in veterinary nursing, biosecurity, animal research, or clinic management and pharmaceutical sales.

For those looking to gain acceptance into the UQ Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVS), this program also offers a less competitive entry point into the field. Students can then apply to transfer into the BVS after studying in the Bachelor of Veterinary Technology for a year. At Pacific Futures, we are here to help you decide the best path for you and assist you with the application along the way.
